Diving at Ilha do Guajirú is also a great experience.
You can dive on and around the island and also visit an old ship wreck, located only a few car minutes downwind from Ilha do Guajirú.
Bring your own gear and enough spare material if you want to go diving at Ilha do Guajirú, since there is no diving facilities (such as filling tanks or replacement parts) at the island yet.
But please do remember to leave your wetsuit at home! You won’t need it in the island´s, 26 Degree C. warm waters!
Go diving to see the world below and experience Brazil´s abundant tropical sealife, showing you all colours of the rainbow.
If you are lucky you come accross one of the island´s large friendly turtles!
Or decide to go diving in the amazon-like River, running around the island’s back, and notice how salted seawater mixed with sweet river water ends up in a mix and variety of sealife.
Ask the captains of the local Jangada boats (see the page “Sailing”) to bring you out on the Sea by boat or to the shipwreck: they do know where to take you.
You can also ask Mr. Toca of Toca´s pousada to arrange a private trip for you.
Appr. 2 km downwind of Ilha do Guajiru you can go wreckdiving!
A large boat, that sunk many years ago, is a spectacle to visit underwater.
But also, appr. 3 km out on the ocean another surprise is waiting for you: a big coral reef is out there waiting for you to be discovered!
Simply ask the ferry service of Mr. Toca, at Toca's pousada, he will bring you there.
